Mundo Verde School Tour
LA.IDEA would like to thank Todd Ray, FAIA, Principal of Page, for guiding such an extraordinary tour of Mundo Verde School on Monday, April 22. Sustainability is at the core of the school’s program, and its green campus allows students to live it and embrace it. Consisting of a LEED Silver 36,148 ft² renovation (now as La Casa) and a LEED Platinum 10,963 ft² new building (La Casita), Mundo Verde has grown exponentially since it opened and lives up to its name.
Isadora Carreras, Development Manager of Mundo Verde, shared interesting facts about the school's philosophy and its deep connection with DC's community, such as that it is the most diverse public school in DC, having students from every ward of the city.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in learning about educational and sustainable design at this tour!
