Our Name
LA.IDEA was born as a result of a conversation about the desire for integration among Latin American design professionals and the ways we could positively impact our communities.
LA.IDEA|DC
LA.IDEA is an acronym for Latin American Interior Designers, Engineers, and Architects.
It is also Spanish for “The Idea”. The bilingual nature of the name reflects the character and spirit of the organization. Per our agreement with the local American Institute of Architects (AIADC) our name and logo shall include the aforementioned entity.
Our Mission
Become the leading collective of Latin American design professionals in the Washington, DC area by creating opportunities for interaction among members, fostering professional development, and engaging the community.
Furthermore, LA.IDEA DC provides a forum for Latin American professionals in the building industry to exchange ideas and interact with each other and our communities. We aim to support each other's professional growth by leveraging our experiences and professional successes. We hope to inspire future generations of Latin American professionals and promote a diversity of viewpoints in the building industry, in part by collaborating with other committees, groups, and organizations.
